Chinese language education in Thailand affects the Sino-Thai friendship and the future of economic development, so the smooth development of Chinese education has more significant importance. However, when "Chinese fever" is prevailing over the Thailand, the acute shortage of Chinese language teachers has become a bottleneck which restricts the development of Chinese education. Only solving the problem of Chinese language teachers’shortages, Chinese language education in Thailand could develop better. The purpose of this article is, by studying ethnic Chinese teachers in Thailand, provides advises to the Chinese language teachers’ training in Thailand which is beneficial to the Thailand Chinese education.After comparing and analysis of the previous introduction and study of Chinese language teachers in Thailand, the writer has developed new perception on Chinese language teachers. Therefore, this paper studies the Thai Chinese teachers’ status by making a distinction between ethnic Chinese teachers and non-Chinese teachers. The writer finds that ethnic Chinese teachers are main parts of Thai Chinese language teachers, and are dominant force of educational management. However, the ethnic Chinese teachers has many problems, such as the ratio of ethnic Chinese in Thailand is lower, this lower ratio lead to lower teachers reserve resources; The structure of age and education background of the existing Thai ethnic Chinese teachers’ are unreasonable; Their career identity is lower; The new generation has no obvious advantages in teaching Chinese language. All of these issues seriously restricted the growth of the Chinese language teachers. However, the non-Chinese teachers had distinct advantages in the structure of human resources, age and education background, etc. Besides, their career identity is higher. Their growth rate is far higher than the ethnic Chinese teachers’ in past five years. Their language competence, teaching ability, has no significant difference with the ethnic Chinese teachers. These advantages make the non-Chinese teachers become an emerging force in the Chinese language education in Thailand.In view of this situation of Chinese teaching and Chinese language teachers in Thailand, the writer believes that Thai Chinese teachers’training is imperative. It is recommended that Hanban strengthened this training in two follow aspects. First, we should focus on supporting the non-Chinese teachers. Include:government scholarship programs (the MTCSOL project and the "Chinese Bridge" project) increase the proportion of non-Chinese admission; More supports should be provided to the Thai normal Colleges or universities to help them build Chinese course; Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms in Thailand should hire and train more and more the non-Chinese teachers. Second, we should continue use the strength of the ethnic Chinese in Thailand. Include:Hanban give the ethnic Chinese honorary recognition to enhance their sense of honor to develop Chinese education; The ethnic Chinese teachers’ training should pay main attention to teaching management, meanwhile, take other trainings into account, such as curriculum building, textbook writing, teachers’ training, and so on. Through these measures, we could actively expand the non-Chinese teacher ratio, improve the non-Chinese teachers’language competence and teaching ability, improve the comprehensive capacity of the education management capacity and Chinese language education of the Chinese teachers. These measures aim to develop more high-level Chinese language talents to promote the economic development of Thailand and contribute more to deepen the Sino-Thai friendship.
