Chinese characters boasts a long history and extends profound and extensive cultural influence. Chinese characrers integrate with pronunciation, morphology and meaning as one, play a critical role in promoting forming and development of Modern Chinese, and as important vehicle of Chinese culture, play a significant role in its dessimination.Besides Chinese writing, as mean of communication, its pronunciation is dessiminated to Janpan and is partly preserved. Chinese pronunciation plays an important role in its Japanese counterpart. With time passing, Chinese and Japanese phonology depleop futher in their respective way. However, dating back to their origin, conrellation between them still can be found.The thesis, taking Kanji with "g","k","lr" as their consonents in Common Japanese Kanji Tables as its research object, tries to compare its Goon and Kanon pronunciations and that of Chinese characters with "g","k"","h"as initials.The thesis firstly applies Xue Yan Han He Dictionary, Modern Common Japanese Kanji-Chinese Characters Comparison Dictionary and Handbook of Ancient Phonology and Modern Phonology Comparison to classify Chinese pronunciations and Japanese pronunciation in Common Japanese Kanji Tables, focusing Goon and Kanon one and sorted them out in tables. And then Goon and Kanon pronunciations of Japanese Kanji and Chinese pronunciation are compared based on different development histoy to study their correlation.The thesis is composed of the "Prologue",’"Body" and the "Finale"."Note""References","Appendix" and "Acknowledgements" are also attached at the end of the thesis.The "Prologue" discusses research background, research rationale, research question and research method of the thesis.The main body of the thesis is composed of four chaptersThe first chapter comprehensively discusses Chinese and Japanese phonology. To begin with, the historical development of Chinese and Japanese phonology is classified based on the time line to make comparasion between them, and then the Chinese initials of each deleplopment phase is sorted.Chapter two firstly compares pronunciation of Chinese characters with "g" as initials and that of Japanese Kanji with the siminar consonant. These Chinese characters and Japanese Kanji are firstly sorted out in tables based on their pronunciation in different delelopment phase from early-ancient to modern times and then compared to find the correspondence relationship between them. In addition, the pronunciation phenomenon of Japanese Kanji discussed here is explained from the perspective of Chinese characters system.Chapter three and four respectively compares pronunciation of Chinese characters with "k" and "h" as initials and that of Japanese Kanji with the siminar consonant.The same to the approach of chapter two,sorting the characters out in tables, comparing to find the correspondence relationship between the Chinese and Janpanese Characters, explaning the reasons.The last chapter is a conclusion of the research. It summarizes the study on comparison between pronunciations of Japanese Kanji with "g","k","h" as consonents with and that of Chinese initials "g","k","h" and proposes possible future research orientation.
