Daphne du Maurier was a famous writer in England. She joined in Royal Society of Literature and awarded the British empire lady medal in1966due to her contribution in literature. Most of Daphne du Maurier’s works were popular fictions. The writer was especially good at the mystery novel creation. Her works are often have obviously gothic style. Rebecca established Daphne du Maurier’s fame as a writer, the Main character in this book, Rebecca, a mystery woman who has complex personality, gives readers leave deep impression.This article will use the Scrutiny method as the main method. Through analyze the character of Rebecca, to find out Daphne du Maurier’s feminist ideology. The first chapter will detailed analysis image of two women, Rebecca and I. these two characters represents two side of writer’s idea, I represent traditional woman, Rebecca represents woman who have rebellious spirit. Those two characters have a confrontational relationship in this novel. The second chapter will use Jane Eyre as a baseline, to find the writer Daphne du Maurier in what areas inheritance or broke through the Charlotte Bronte’s feminist though view. The third chapter will focuses on double sex temperament which appeared in Rebecca.
