Objects, Symbols, Simulation—the Study Of Baudrillard’s Later Philosophy Of Technology

If we divided Baudrillard’s thought into two stages, so we can divided it into pre-modernism thought and post-modernism thought. The entry point of his pre-modernism thought is the daily objects, throughout the analysis of objects he leads to his symbolic consumption theory, then form the theory of consumer society. The rebellion of the objects is the main research of the post-modernism thought, high technology objects is a study object in this period. Although Baudrillard does not think his thought can be classified in the category of postmodernism, perhaps his late thought can be considered as an ultra-modernism thought, but throughout the content in Baudrillard’s late thought, it includes simulation and simulacra, deadly thing and etc. in these theories we can find the technical matter’s rebel and erosion to the reality and subject, irrational thought is the main theme in his late thought. So from these aspects, we can classify his thought in the category of postmodernism. This article through gripes the process of logical development from objects to symbols and then simulation expand the study on Baudrillard’s late philosophy of technology. In this study, it also relate to these problems which include the transition and contrast in Baudrullard’s pre and post philosophy of technology thought.I believe that there is an inherent logic of continuity between Baurdrilladr’s pre and post philosophy of technology thought. The post philosophy of technology thought is the extension and development of the pre philosophy of technology thought. In other words, extension refers to the "objects" is the start point both in pre and post philosophy of technology thought, although there is a certain difference between the "objects" of the pre and post philosophy of technology, they have the same enter point. Development refers to the post philosophy of technology is much depth than the pre one. Baudrillard’s pre philosophy of technology is going to lead his symbol theory, and the symbol theory is bedding of the theory of consumer society. His late philosophy of technology thought is aim at display the affect of technical matter to the human and society. This technical matter refers to the network and nuclear technology, and it reflects the "object’s" rebel and destruction to the subject. Eventually form his pessimistic view of technology. In Baudrillard’s life, he has mangy ideas in his theory, the academic always divided his academic career into three periods, these three periods is the process Baudrillard reflect, form and use his own theory. This article believes that Baudrillard’s post philosophy of technology is a response of his postmodernism thought, and also a profound interpretation of modern technology after he formed his own theoretical system. When we analysis the post philosophy of technology thought we must combine with his pre philosophy of technology thought, and by grasp the intrinsic link between his pre and post philosophy of technology thought we can grasp the inner logic of Bardrillard’s theory. Bardrillard’s technical theory of late pessimism also has some profound insights, his special interpretation of technical matter has a profound impact on modern society and the development of philosophy of technology, and play a certain reference to our present development concept of technology.
