A Study Of China’s Image In Her Neighboring Country

In2009, an article entitled "Mongolian complex look at China" published in the Chinese newspaper "Global times" triggered a heated debate in Mongolia. This inspired my research which aimed to define what is China’s image in Mongolian press. A content analysis of China-related news stories featured in the leading Mongolian newspaper "Unuudur"(Today) is carried out.The results showed that "Unuudur" newspaper offered various representations of China’s image which is summarized in three main points:The economically developed ChinaThe strategic ally ChinaThe dangerous ChinaThis research is of great importance, because Mongolia shares the longest border line with China, therefore, its perceptions of China may reflect to some extent the view of other neighboring countries of China.
