Basing on the research of Chinese linguistics and second language acquisition,this thesis makes a comprehensive investigation and research of the condition of theusing of Chinese symbolic conditional complex clause by foreign students. Based onthe results of the investigation and research, we attempt to propose some principlesand methods for the teaching of Chinese symbolic conditional complex clause, andhope that it could provide some valuable reference for future study.On the whole, this thesis consists of four parts. The first part is a literature review.On the basis of a summarizing and reviewing of existing results by predecessors, wegive the definition of the conditional complex clause. The second part is errorsanalysis. We analyse the errors of conditional complex clause from threeaspects-grammar, semantics and language, and try to discover regulations and reasonsof the errors. The third part is an analysis of acquisition order. By adopting themethods of quantitative, comparative, and correct use relative percentage analysis, weget the acquisition order of ten types of conditional complex clauses. The last part issome teaching suggestions. After defining the teaching goals and difficulties andexamining Graded Words and Characters for Chinese Proficiency, Chinese LanguageProficiency Standards and Grade Level Grammar Outline, and Developing Chineseseries, the thesis is an attempt to shed some light on composing teaching materials,teaching methods and setting up exercises.
