| In the history of aesthetic study，the researchers often only pay attention to thetheory of aesthetics and ignore the study of aesthetics of everyday life. In today’ssociety, as the improvement of the market economy and living standard, people’sconsciousness of aesthetics has constantly enriched, and the judgment of beauty hasalso infiltrated to people’s daily life. People often say:"art is from life and higher thanlife." Obviously, the aesthetics of everyday life has become one of the directions ofaesthetic research. However, to explore the aesthetics of everyday life, we have tofocus on a person----Li Yu.Li Yu lived in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. He has been called:"Ancient Aesthetics Master of Daily Life " by Mr. Du Shuying in the nearly two yeas.Among the study of Li Yu, the researchers have mixed attitude towards him. Somesay he is a person with rich opera theory and aesthetic thought.Others criticize that heis a person of "dirty sex, good ingratiation." Though his achievement on life aestheticsis less outstanding than his opera aesthetics, it is also not got more attention byresearchers; the contribution of Li Yu should be appreciated in the development of theaesthetics of everyday life. In recent years, it is Mr. Du Shuying who has acomprehensive study of Li Yu’s aesthetics of everyday life. He has fully analysed LiYu’s aesthetics of everyday life in his book "Heart Solution of Li Yu’s Aesthetics"published in2010. Of course, the publication of this book has promoted the warmingstudy of Li Yu.This paper takes the life as a starting point, the historical materialism as guidingthought and adopts the combining method of theory research and case analysis. Ithelps us to look at Li Yu’s aesthetics of everyday life from a contemporary point ofview. The paper sums up three aspects of his Life aesthetics: Dress and Appearance,Garden, and Diet Regimen. Through the three aspects and Contemporary Explanationto it, we can know that Li Yu’s aesthetics of everyday life is the art of daily life. Hisaesthetic experience is a life attitude of "supremacy of enjoyment" and "supremacy ofhappiness". Moreover, the development of commodity economy and thetransformation of people’s notion of aesthetic in the consumption society make theforesight of Li Yu’s aesthetics of everyday life. Throughout his aesthetic thoughts, andaccording to current aesthetic interest, it is easy to see the aesthetics of daily hasbecome a hot topic in today’s consumption society. Compared with that, Li Yu is theadvocate and practicer of ancient aesthetics of daily.Though Li Yu’s aesthetic thought has its time limitations, its achievement is quitehigh. It has provided a strong theoretical basis for today’s life aesthetics research. Italso plays a big role in guiding the beauty create for today’s consumption social.There is no doubt all mentioned above have brought great inspiration to today’ dailylife.As intellectuals in the21st century, we should evaluate Li Yu fairly and objectively. Through the interpretation of Li Yu’s aesthetic of everyday life, the paperis expected to arouse more attention of Li Yu in today’s aesthetic study. Thus, the latergenerations can learn its essence, understand the aesthetics principles, and then usethem to beautify people’s daily life. Finally， they can promote the healthydevelopment of beauty. |
