| Bai Yuchan was the fifth ancestor of Neidan Nanzong in Southern Song Dynasty. He not only made great achievement in Taoism, making tremendous contribution in the theory construction of Neidan Nanzong, but also was gifted and had many works been handed down over the ages. Among his handed down works, there were a lot of literati works with strong literary flavor and no Taoism habit, and also a certain amount of Taoism works that revealing his Taoist identity. This paper is right to make a research of this part of Taoism works, so we can have a more comprehensive understanding and assessment of Bai’s idealistic and artistic achievement. In the first chapter, the author made a classification of Bai’s works according to their subjects, which followed by a probe of their Taoism connotation in the religious dimension. The second chapter analyzed the artistic characteristics of his Taoism works in the literary level, which mainly include three components such as diversified language style, the plotted presentations and the technique of long suite poems. We also discussed his creation based on the inherit of traditions in this part. The third chapter is a commentary of research meaning of Bai’s Taoism works, which processed from both the Taoism level and the literary level. |
