With the development of society changes, the traditional classroomteaching mode can’t meet the needs of the learners. therefore, useing newmedia to the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language isthe overwhelming trend. The emerging of it, start a new era of teachingChinese as a foreign language. In this paper, i tried my best to analysis on 《Happy Chinese》,《Growing up with Chinese》and 《Follow me》from three aspect of theteaching contect. Then to find out the strengthens and weaknesses of theTV teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Advantage of TV teaching Chinese as a foreign language:In thecontent, the foreign Chinese TV educational program is closer to life. Itcan restore the real life dialogue scene in front of the audience; In thetransmission form, TV media combines sounds, pictures and subtitles, under the help of TV media, it makes TV teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage more vivid and interesting; In the communicator and audience, it can invite famous teacher to participate in the program, thus cost ofteaching has been saved, quality of teacher has been ensured. At thesame time, the audience of the TV teaching program is extremely wide, which includes all different kinds of people like different classes, different genders and different ages; In the Chinese internationalpromotion, TV teaching Chinese program not only teach Chinese, butalso lead the audience to visit beatifull places, enjoy light snacks, watchall kinds of culture performances, help the audience learn Chinese andfeel the profound Chinese culture. In addition, compared with thetraditional teaching mode, TV teaching break through the limitations oftime and space. It can not only provide services for domestic learners, but also the learners who live far across the Atlantic. Wherever thelearner is, he can study Chinese if he can be in touch with TV media. From this point, the TV teaching Chinese as a foreign language can fillthe blank in geographical distribution. But, as a one-way transmission ofTV media, the isolation and dispersion of the audience make a negtive impact on the Chinese TV teaching, this increse the difficuty of makingChinese TV educational programs invisibly. TV media conveyinformation by sound and images. But sound and images is so difficultto save, the learners may have overlooked some important konwledgeswhen they pays little attetion. Whatever, the television media is a typicalmass communication which has spread irreversibility features. TV mediajust disseminates the information to the learners, but neither know theaudience is interested in the program nor the audience has mastered theknowledge. We say that it is lacking in feedback. After the research, i give some suggestions about how to developthe TV teaching Chinese as a foreign language. At first, refine the set ofthe program, carry forward to the cultural transmission of televisionmedia propties, put the spirit of high grade in the first place. Secondly, pay attetion to the building of the program systematized and branding.Keep integrating the teaching resources, form China’s own brand ofTCFL and make it become the world’s best language teaching brand. At last, expanding the horizontal development of TV teaching Chinese as aforeign language. In the international context of medium fusion, theestablishment of a cross-media industry chain is really necessary.
