Objective: To develop and test the reliability and validity of Perfect Personality Scale forthe university students (PPSUS).Methods: First,The model of Perfect Personality was generated through methods likequestionnaires survey and widely reading literatures about this. According to thequestionnaire survey content and combination with the former personality scale, thepreliminary scale was developed. Through small sample tested, focus group discussed andfinally the PPSUS formed. Using random sampling method,total1200students who areuniversity students were tested with PPSUS,based on the item analysis and the exploratoryanalysis, the formal scale was made out after modification,The reliability and validity of thescale were also tested. Results: Exploratory principal component analysis of the items identified that the scalehad7factors and explaining50.454%of the total variance respectively; Reliability test,Cronbach’a coefficient and spilt-half ranged from0.659to0.902and0.632to0.888; Thecorrelation between the items and the total score are from0.361to0.598; The correlationbetween the factors and the total score are from0.558to0.815; The factors’ result of thevalidate factor analysis: χ~2/df、GFI、 AGFI、CF TLI and RMSEA is respectively4.26、0.82、0.80、0.82、0.80、0.057.Conclusions: Finally we identified that the scale had7factors and52items. The outcomeof reliability analysis showed that internal consistency is good; The construct validity is goodand achieves the demand of psychometrics; The empirical validity is good by the comparativebetween the group of students and the group of Healthy members.
