With the changes of the era, the original graphic symbols gradually developed to textsymbols, which made it spread more widely and accurately. There always lies a reincarnationfor everything. After the western culture storming and people getting used to conquer andtransform nature, in the ultimate, Chinese design seems to step close to the original startingpoint. We are now freshmen to learn and study about how to live in harmony with nature,which inspires our hope and reflection on previous thoughts of the design of graphicalsymbols. With the representative visual graphic symbols from regions and nations ofgeographical characteristics culture of China as breakthrough.Without long-term cultural accumulation, it is impossible for us to enjoy the artisticcivilization of today. From the cultural point of view, each unique area has its own nativegraphical symbol characteristics, and this article studies--from the perspective of visualcommunication design—different graphic symbols of various regions of China. Summarizingthe origin and development of graphic symbols, graphic symbols is composed by point, lineand plane. Different historical and geographical environment, Under the different customs,the same graphical symbols will be present by variant visual effects, such as color,composition, shape and materials. Contrasting these elements, summed up the the graphicalsymbols regional characteristics. Study the Nationalities from the geographical and culturalinvasion phenomenon of design from the culture of western postmodernism, reflect on theimportance of the national character. And summarizes the geographical differences of thegraphic symbol of our nation. Through the depth of thinking on the geographical source oftraditional graphic symbols, summed up the conversion method to adapt to the needs ofmodern graphic design, to make visual design carried forward the traditional geographicalcharacteristics and culture, so as to promote the formation of characteristic regional culture.Through Theoretical study and applying theory to practical design work, the work will bearepochal and regional characteristics. And the long-term needs of developing and cultivatinglocal designers are also proposed.
