With the development of society, the importance of English has becomeincreasingly recognized by everyone. For students who will be kindergarten teachersin the future, English plays a very important role for their professional development.Nowadays the training schools face many problems such as the decline in the qualityof the students, kindergartens’ need for better employees, the reduction of teachinghours, and the tendency that students are less interested in English. All these factorshave posed challenges to English teaching, but also have brought opportunities to theEnglish teaching reform.This paper aims to analyze the English classroom teaching reform of QingdaoKindergarten teachers’ training school from the perspectives of constructivism. Theresearch is conducted taking the characteristics of students, teachers’ quality, Englishteaching strategies and other elements into consideration. It also discusses about theproblems existent in the current English classroom teaching, for instance, Englishteachers bear the pressure of overtime teaching of many classes, most of the in-classtime are occupied by the teachers, and students have no interest in English. It exploresthe effective teaching reform mode through the field research, which requires teachersto change teaching methodologies, set explicit teaching goals so as to fully mobilizestudents’ initiative; to improve the learning efficiency and optimize the teachingdesign, including goals setting, classroom teaching and homework assignments; tofind a feasible and suitable school teaching method which contains using thetextbooks creatively, forming school-based teaching materials according to studentslevels; to alter teachers’ roles, improve teachers’ quality and form harmoniousinteractions with students and teachers which strive to inspire students’ learningmotivation, build language learning environment in communication and guidestudents’ moral education; to conduct rich and colorful activities with the help offoreign teachers, develop opera performances, watch English movies, read English books and hold English Salon; to use modern teaching equipment aiding teaching andform active, interactive, collaborative, and autonomous modern teaching mode whichtakes the place of the traditional teaching one in the multimedia and networkenvironment so as to form the unique teaching mode of kindergarten teachers’ trainingschool.This thesis consists of seven chapters: The first chapter is the introduction, inwhich the background is introduced and the significance of the research is emphasized.This article is to find the way to enhance English teaching and students overall qualityin present situation. The second chapter is the literature review, in which the studies ofEnglish teaching reforms under the guidance of Constructivism are summarized. Itfocuses on the famous foreign teaching mode, including project organized, theproblem based learning, anchored instruction, conceptual change learning, and HPSbased learning. The third chapter is the theoretical framework, in which theconstructivism theory, constructivism learning theory and constructivism teachingtheory are briefly discussed. The fourth chapter is the research design and methods, inwhich the research goal, subjects, research methods and research steps are clarified.The fifth chapter is the present teaching situation in Qingdao kindergarten teachers’training school, in which teaching subjects, examination, and teaching materials arepresented. The sixth chapter is the teaching reform of Qingdao kindergarten teachers’training school, and the finding of the appropriate mode in English teaching. The finalchapter is the conclusion.
