All countries are developing the high-speed and large-scale drawing machine or improve the degree of automation of the wire drawing machine via auxiliary equipment. The domestic wire drawing machine are mostly imported, and in the development stage of independent brands of research and development. When the drawing machine is in the pulling process, the coiling radius is constantly changing and some undetectable factors bring the tension control system uncertainty, the traditional PID control is difficult to meet the precision of the tension control. The subject of this paper is the control systems of the contact wire drawing machine,we adopt the method of combining PLC and intelligent algorithms to realize the automated transformation and the precise control of the tension of the wire drawing machine.Through the analysis of the development status of the drawing machine at home and abroad, we conclude that improve the automated transformation of the drawing machine by the auxiliary set may be in line with the requirments of the development of domestic staus. In the automatic transformation of the wire drawing machine, the work of this paper are as follows:First,in the algorithm, based on the analysis of the tension control principle, we use BP neural network to timely adjust the PID controller proportional, the integral and the differential parameters.In this way, we achieve the precise control of the PID controller for the tension of the wire drawing machine. And used MATLAB software to simulate the algorithm, by the analyses of the adjustment process of the ratio,the differential, the integral and the error simulation diagram to prove that the algorithm is feasibility.Second, in the hardware, this paper is based on the Siemens T-CPU and Mitsubishi servo drive, used isochronous synchronous PROFIBUS DP mode to realize the coordinated control of the coiling motor and the take-up motor of the wire drawing machine. T-CPU and servo drive is connected via the interface module IM174. We use the Siemens PLC module to collect the current, the speed, the tension and other parameters of the wire drawing machine, and combined with STEP7software to integrate the drawing machine control process in the IPC. In order to facilitate the operation,by the MCGS Software,we configurate the screens of the parameters of the wire drawing machine, the process control, and the fault diagnosis to man-machine interface.Third, adopt the DDE communication to connect MATLAB and MCGS, and adopt the MPI protocol to connect MCGS and PLC.In this way, we achieve the communication between the MATLAB and the PLC. The neural Network PID program written in MATLAB and the communication scripts written in the MCGS,all of these provided the conditions for the application of neural network PID algorithm in the PLC. BP neural network PID control algorithm is applied to the contact wire drawing machine control system, and the tension control error in the configuration screen is displayed in real-time monitoring.
