In the production of steel wire rubber hose, the quality of twisted wire plays an important role. The quality of twisted wire which is better mainly depends on the advanced nature of the wire stranding machine constant tension control system. The advanced nature has the core status in the process of rolling and winding. Therefore, we cooperate with some related company to develop a new type of experimental machine. We got a lot of operational data and research results by field test. The main task of wire rolling automatic control system is constant tension control. The constant tension control is the core content of steel wire uncoiling control system. The subject selected the constant tension control as the main object of study.First, this paper give a simple introduction about the mechanical structure and electric structure of steel wire in stranding machine. Then the paper illustrates the related hardware and the communication methods. The paper also analyzes the impact of real-time volume diameter and the calculation method for moment of inertia. After that the paper illustrates the tension control system of the unwinding system and winding system, combined with the changing rule of the related parameters. This paper introduces the mechanism of tension. The experimental simulation uses the conventional PID control algorithm. We study the fuzzy adaptive PID control algorithm in constant tension control system of wire stranding machine application. We combine the respective advantages of fuzzy control with conventional control, and use the Matlab tools for the simulation analysis in the computer. Eventually we adopt the theory of fuzzy adaptive PID control strategy in constant tension control system of wire stranding machines. Finally, the simulation results show the fuzzy adaptive PID control is better than the conventional PID control system in the wire stranding machines results, and it can strengthen the anti-jamming capability into greater extent.
