As tributary of the Yellow River, the Weihe River is the mother river of Guanzhong region of Shaanxi province,it is an important body of surface water. In recent years, with the rapid development of the national economy in Shaanxi Province, the water consumptiom of industrial and agriculture continuously increased and the water polutants discharged into Weihe river increased year by year, making the river lose its primary function. This paper analysis the characteristics of Chemical Oxygen demand and Ammonia-nitrogen at13monitoring sections, main tributaries in Weihe River and enterprise of the drainage outlet, the result shows that there are two-thirds monitoring section of the Weihe River did not meet the requirement of water environmental function,despite the deterioration trend of water quality of Weihe River has been effectively contaimented.Accompanied with the urbanization speeding up and urban population increased dramatically, the pressure of pollution in Weihe River increase year by year. The treatment rate of municipal sewage is deficiency.in addition,some wastewater run off and is untreated,the water environment problem of Weihe river remains not optimistic judged by the environmental quality standard.(1) Water quality in the main streams of Weihe River in Baoji is able to meet the functional requirements,two-thirds river section from Xianyang to Tongguan is polluted sever,the water qulity was under order V, but the general trend is that pollution had been reducing.The situation is not optimistic description of Weihe river water quality deterioration is being effectively contained.(2) The Weihe river main stream Chemical Oxygen demand pollution is the most serious in Weinan is within the territory of the Shawangdu section, the most light pollution is the baoji domestic’s Linjia Cun section; Ammonia-nitrogen pollution is the most serious is within the territory of the Xi’an Gengzhenqiao section, the most light pollution is within the territory of the baoji Linjia Cun section.(3) Change trend of Chemical Oxygen demand is influented in tributary of Weihe river:12main tributary of Weihe river Chemical Oxygen demand (COD) concentration, each branch section density fluctuates up and down in the trend, Bahe river Sanlang Cun, Fenghe river Sanliqiao two section of the Chemical Oxygen demand (COD) monitoring value in a gradually fluctuation trend. Heihe river into Weihe river section of the Chemical Oxygen demand (COD) monitoring value in a gradually rising trend. Zaohe river Nongchangxizhan, Laohe river into Weihe river, Xinhe river into Weihe river, Linhe river into Weihe river four sections of Chemical Oxygen demand (COD) monitoring value present the trend of decline year by year.(4) Tributary of the Weihe river Ammonia-nitrogen changing trend:12main tributary of Weihe river Ammonia-nitrogen concentration, except for Heihe river into Weihe river section monitoring value slightly shows rising trend,and Qingjiangheriver,Shibaheriver, Jinlingheriver, Baheriver Sanlang Cun, Fenghe river Sanliqiao, Zaohe river Nongchangxizhan section is stationary fluctuates up and down in the trend, the rest of five tributary monitoring value declined overall, water quality improvement year by year.(5) Weihe river pollution is caused Water demanded, a serious shortage of water resources, the urban and agricultural source pollution, industrial enterprise pollution treatment facilities is not sound, overweight blowdown, steal row or untreated urban sewage directly or indirectly into weihe river etc.(6) The government functional departments which pay the attention of the Weihe river pollution control is premise,controlling Weihe river pollution must be led by the government departments division of Labour cooperation, the reasonable of decision and policy is controlling Weihe river pollution smoothly and guarantee, the marketization management is improving enterprises which can participate in the pollution treatment enthusiasm completely; A wide range of publicity and public participation in supervision for Weihe river pollution control work to create strong social atmosphere; Actively promote the Weihe river (shaanxi section) industrial structure adjustment, especially, pay attention to industrial primarily pollution source management, strict emission standards, improve the environmental management level; To strengthen the construction of urban sewage treatment plant is given priority to city environmental protection infrastructure construction, vigorously promotes the environment supervision, improve the environmental supervision system, actively push downstream water pollution compensation system.The pollution in Weihe River is main caused by several major tributaries pollution,to make the water quality improve and meet the objective of water quality of main stream, treatment and control must be carried out in Weihe River and its tributaries pollution within the planning period.According to relationship between the source,branch and the main stream, to improve the the water quality of weihe river,the10tributaries pollution must be treated and controled,paying special attention to the treatment of Xiaowei river in Baoji,Zaohe river,Xinhe river,Laohe river and Bahe river in Xi’an,Qishuihe river and Jinghe river in Xianyang,Fenghe river in Xi’an and Xianyang,Youhe river and Beiluohe river in Weinan, especially the Zaohe river,Xinhe river. Xiaoweihe river and Youhe river tributaries.
