Center drive concentrator is mainly used for concentrating and clarifying, itis one of the key equipment that is widely used for tailing disposal. Accordingly,the center drive thickner that mostly used for concentrating and clarifying is thekey equipment. The liquid be send to the feed well through the feed groove first,and then radiate surround, the solid particles in the slurry gradually sink to thebottom of the thickner, and scraped into the discharge hopper that in the bottomof the center pool then discharged by the sand pump, so the feeding methods anddevices directly affect the processing of the thickner. To explore the structuralcharacteristics of the feed well, for improving concentrating efficiency hasimportant significance in theory and practical.The feed well play an important role in the work of the thickner. It preventsthe slurry flow stirring the compression zones, this will be conducive to thestability of the compression area and can improve the underflow density and thequality of the overflow water, can improve the thickner efficiency andunderflow solid recovery greatly.This article combined the advantages of the FLUENT PROE and ANSYS,thethree-dimensional model of the feed well and the pool introduced to theFLUENT through the graphic interface of the ANSYS,FLUENT and PROE.This article main present the FLUENT analysis process and it’s results of the50meters center drive thickner’s feed well, obtain the flow field that throughnew feed well to the pool. The analysis results show that new feed well canreduce the flow rate of the slurry, and achieve the purpose of the slurry babric inthe thickner uniform and stable.The results of the flow field analysis that through the feed well shows that theslurry will rotate down to the inner wall before flow out of the feed well, so thetime of slurry in the feed well will be extended.Design a new feed well on thebasis of the thickner settlement system. While establishing the model of the feedwell and the pool by the PROE and GAMBIT, using the FLUENT software toanalysis the flow that through the feed well and into the pool, this can be a goodmethod of flow field analysis. Analysis the feed well can meet the production requirements in theory, thus provide guidance for actual production to improvethe concentrated efficiency.
