The Evolution Of Ecological Footprint And Influencing Factors Of Research Of Beijing

Beijing is the most important political, economic and cultural center of China.Moreover, the whole world knows China mainly through beijing nowadays.Considering all this, high-quality development of beijing is of great significance.However, with the rapid development, beijing is faced with many problems now. Theinharmonious state among population, resources and environment of beijing is thehinder of better development of beijing. Relatively few studies focus on ecologicalfootprint of Beijing quantitatively, which were relatively little helpful to promulgateregulations. This paper studied the ecological problems and the influencing factors ofbeijing systematically based on the theory of sustainable development and the theoryof ecological footprint. What’s more, this paper studied the influencing factorsquantitatively. Hoping the paper may be helpful to relative policy making.This paper investigated the present state firstly. It is turned out that beijing isfaced with terrible ecological environment. The per capital ecological footprint ofbeijing in2011is26times higher than the per capital ecological capacity. What’smore, the total ecological footprint during1990-2011kept rising. So it is very usefulto inspect the changing of its ecological footprint and to find out its influencingfactors. This paper compared the ecological footprint of Beijing with some ourcountry’ and international areas. On the whole, efficiency of resources usage ofbeijing is very low, which needs to improve desperately.On the base of the result of the changing trends from1990to2011of beijing,this paper discussed the impact and the action mechanism of population, economicand technology to the ecological footprint. In the process, the paper adopted thelaspeyres decomposition. The result showed that economic effect and populationeffect are the two most important reasons that led the increase of beijing’s ecologicalfootprint. What’s more, the result showed that the economic effect is down and thepopulation effect is up. But in2011, the two factors have already had the equal effect.And technology effect always has negative effect to the increase of beijing’secological footprint. However, its effect has been decreasing in recent years.Based on the result, the paper put up with a series of suggestions includingimproving efficiency of resources usage, setting up garbage recycling mechanism andso on.
