At present, it can be treated Rheumatic heart disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, Rheumarthritis, Chronic nephritis, Cor pulmonale, Acute nephritis, Beriberi edema, adiposis, urticaria, hircismus and so on in the clinical application. Until present, there are many research-es of pharmacological effect and clinical curative effects,but the research of chemical composition has scarcely any. In view of the above situation, the author studies the content of chemical compos-ition of alkaloids and saponins. At the same time, she also studied the antioxidant activity and the antibacterial activity of the polypharmacy.In the course of the study about chemical composition, the author taked the total alkaloid and total saponins divided into water-soluble, alcohol-soluble, fat soluble three parts, tested their content, respectively. Purpose is to provide evidence for quality control of this polypharmacy. The experimental data show that controllable content of Fat-soluble alkaloid is0.1509g.ml-1, only10.78%extraction rate; the controllable content of Alcohol-soluble is0.5821g.ml-1, the extraction rate is41.58%; Fat-soluble saponins have lower levels of0.14436g.ml-1, only10.31%extraction rate; the content of Alcohol-soluble saponins is relatively high for0.9318g.ml-1, the extraction rate is66.56%; the content of water-soluble saponins is0.54095g.ml-1, the extraction rate is38.64%.The authors choose three kinds of antioxidant system respectively for scavenging DPPH radical, hydroxyl radical and reducing power to study the in vitro antioxidant activity of Fang Ji Huang Qi, and BHT for positive control. The experi-mental results show that the clear ability of BHT is greater than the three kinds of polar extract in scavenging DPPH and reducing power. But in the clear hydroxyl radicals system study, the ability to clear of three kinds of polar extracts were greater than positive control BHT. And the most high clearance is water-soluble extract. When the mass concent-ration was0.078125mg.ml-1, the BHT clearance is only85.5%, and alcohol-soluble extracts clearance is89.71%, the clearance of fat soluble extracts is87.52%, the clearance of water-soluble extract is94.13%.
