Heat Phlegm Yiqi Huoxue Method For The Treatment Of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease With Acute Aggravating Period Of Clinical Research

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Clearing Away Heat, Dispersing Phlegm, Nourishing Qi and Activating Blood Therapy of AECOPD due to Phlegm-heat-stasis Obstructing Lung and Qi Deficiency, as well as the changes in the secondary check indicators before and after treatment, meanwhile, explore the possible treatment mechanisms of Clearing Away Heat, Dispersing Phlegm, Nourishing Qi and Activating Blood Therapy to AECOPD due to Phlegm-heat-stasis Obstructing Lung and Qi Deficiency.Methods:40cases of patients with AECOPD were randomly divided into control group of20cases, treatment group of20cases. Patients in treatment group were treated with Clearing Away Heat, Dispersing Phlegm, Nourishing Qi and Activating Blood Decoction on the base of conventional therapy, and patients in control group were treated only with conventional therapy, such as anti-infective, bronchodilators, oxygen, expectorant agents and oral corticosteroid therapy when necessary. It was designed to investigate the changes of clinical symptoms, physical sign, blood, blood gas analysis, lung function and hemorheology. Both groups were carried out health education and smoking cessation, treatment of10days.Results:1.The improvement of cough, expectoration, anorexia, Shenpi and wheezing rale, cyanosis, choroid congestion and other symptoms or signs of AECOPD in treatment group were significantly better than the control group (P<0.01), improvement of wheezing was also better than the control group (P<0.05).2.Both treatment and control groups can improve the function of lung ventilation (compare among groups, P>0.05).3. The treatment group can reduce elevated inflammatory cells more effectively than the control group (P<0.01).4.Both treatment group and control group can increased PaO2of patients (compare among groups, P>0.05).5. The improvement of whole blood viscosity (high shear), erythrocyte rigidity index, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and other indicators of hemorheology in treatment group were significantly better than the control group (P<0.01), improvement of plasma viscosity was also better than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Clearing Away Heat, Dispersing Phlegm, Nourishing Qi and Activating Blood Therapy can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and physical signs of patients with AECOPD, inhibiting the inflammatory response and improve blood hyperviscosity state, the efficacy is better than western medicine group; it play a certain role in correct hypoxia and improve pulmonary function, but no significant difference compared with the control group. The mechanisms may be related to antibacterial, expectorant and antiasthmatic, improving blood circulation.
