Urticaria is one of the common dcrmatological diseases and its main clinical symptoms are pruritus and skin lesions. If skin lesions occurred again and again and have been delayed healing for more than six weeks, the urticaria will change into chronic urticaria. CU has many impacts on the life quality of patients. First of all, most urticaria are accompanied with severe pruritus and easy to fill patients with anxiety, upset, insomnia and other negative emotions. In addition, taking improper care about repeated skin lesions may produce pigmentation and even scar which will affect the appearance and enhance the patients’psychological burden. Modern medicine has not yet clearly understanding about CU’s etiology and pathogencsis. Owing to the complex clinical classification of CU, there is insufficient greatly in conventional drug therapy, such as its long-term efficacy is still unsatisfactory. In recent years, the researches about Chinese medicine treatment of CU have been increasing and show its unique advantages in alleviating its symptoms and reducing adverse drug reactions. This paper has collected and analyzed ancient and modern literature, then it discusses the relationship between the liver and CU to provide sufficient basic theoretical supports for the Chinese medicine treatment of CU from the liver. This paper have researched and analyzed related clinical disease case and discussed the correctness and feasibility of taking the liver as the starting point for the diagnosis and treatment. Then, made from the liver of chronic urticaria treatment of classification, therapeutic principle in order to provide the corresponding clinical disease prevention and control ideas, norms from the liver treatment of typing for the treatment of chronic urticaria. This paper consists of three parts:The first part is about the research review of modern medicine in CU. This part analyzes the related literature, describes the urticaria’s pathogenesis, clinical classification, diagnostic criteria, treatment methods and other aspects of the research progress.The second part mainly discusses about the overview of CU in Chinese medicine research. This section analyzes the ancient and modern related Chinese medicine literature. Owing to no direct corresponding name with CU in Chinese medicine literature, we explore the literature from related urticaria, wheals based on the descriptions of the clinical symptoms and causes of the disease. Ancient literature section focuses on the discussion of CU’s name and location, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment.While the research part of CU in modern Chinese medicine analyzes and discusses CU’s pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment, prescription therapy and non-drug treatment several aspects.The third part has focused on CU’s theoretical literature research from the liver treatment. This section from the TCM the Viscera theory liver physiological function-the relationship between the liver and the blood was the starting point for finishing the literature on the incidence of chronic urticaria and liver physiological dysfunction is closely related to the treatment of chronic urticaria; argument from the liver the feasibility and effectiveness of the physiological dysfunction of the liver can lead to the pathogenesis of chronic urticaria and therapeutic principle in the treatment of chronic urticaria from the liver, and Treatment typing discusses clinical CU prevention, treatment, provide ideas and so on.
