Different texts have different writing purposes and motivations, so that different texts have formed different styles and characters. The original texts bring a lot of rules to the translators, because both progress and motivation of translation depend on the translated texts to some extent. This paper is going to do the research on the translating work of how to read a poem, which was written by Terry Eagleton. As a literature theory book, there are a lot of literature pieces inside, most of which are poems. In the translation progress, there are a lot of difference methods and devises in dealing with the two kinds of texts, such as on the language part, the logic part, the ways of naturalization and so on.
