Among the numerous keyboard music works of Bach, Goldberg Variations isregarded as a milestone, which shows significant artistic merits but also takes the greatchallenge to performance in meantime. At present, the investigation level to this work varies largely both at home andabroad. In comparison with those studies at home, the research is much deeper, comprehensive and specific abroad. The most two shortages of researches in ourcounties reflect in following two points. One is that almost all the researches arefocused too much on theoretical analysis, such as the creating skills, artisticcharacteristics and inner spirits, and the other is that even some minor studies attempt toswitch the viewpoint to the performers itself, but still lack of comprehensive study, onlyconcentrated on several limited chapters. The present thesis will analyze Goldberg Variations by taking a combined approachinvolving both theory and practice. Based on the basic analysis, the study will be carriedout in the viewpoint of player in combination of performing experience of the author, which will give much more references to investigations in the relevant field.
