"Goldberg Variations"is one of the most typical and representative work of John Sebastian Bach had ever written during Leipzig period, which includes almost all kinds of music and insturmental genre, and it plays a decisive role in his creating career.Affected by development of music and instrumental indusrty,Harpscichord prevailing during Baroque period cannot change its volume through touch force. Therefore,no matter composer's first time creation or musician's secondnary creation, musical works from Baroque period present itself through time-related rhythm and speed.Or out of consideration for the musical style of the original, modern musicians play this kind of music even on modern pianos, changes in intensity will also be controlled. So for playing Baroque music, grasping speed is the key.Excpet for the heavy content and difficult techique,Bach only marked one musical term in Variation 25,so it is really hard to control the speed from macro and micro dimension when playing"Goldberg Variations".Since 20th century,"Goldberg Variations"has been recorded as various version by domestic and international musician. This article choose three pianists with different nationality and ages, using their unique recording version to present musical performing theory and make the music visualized, using empirical method, and compare three different versions in macro and micro way looking from the perspective of speed they playing"Goldberg Variations".Summarizing their indentical performing speed would be helpful to learn how to play the song and other Bach's masterpieces;recognizing their different performing speed would provide practical evidence to explore musician's induvidual performing style and speed prefernce. In addition to this, this article introdue a way using visualized musical techique to make audio version into music score and then compare three different versions, thus providing the experimental method for researching audio version comparison. This passage would primarily discus about how to choose the audio version, comparison of audio version and analysis.First of all,we have to introduce the detail about three different versions, from chosen of audio version, musician's overview to duration of the version;secondly,we make comparison between macro and micro aspect of the audio version. In the macro perspective,we divide the"Goldberg Variations"into three different types:aria, major variation and minor variation. Then we create speed graph for every single version, and observe the characteristic that graph might bring to us,and so we can take the minor variation, which has the most obvious fluctuation in its speed graphic curve,as example to start a IOI graphic producing; Finally, use the result from above procedures to make comparison. If the results are the same, then it should be their common characteristic, and if the results are different, then it could perfectly reflect their different performance style. In the end,the analysis we make here could help explain the musical visualization in the following context, and state the pros and cons of its future development.
