Chunks of language theory which was put forward first by foreign scholars. Inrecent years, it had got increasingly attention from Domestic linguists,especially inEnglish as a Second Language Teaching.First,our article elaborated what’s chunk and the evolution of chunk;s definitions,introduced chunk’s kinds from some aspects, described chunk’s function.Combinedwith the actual situationg of Chinese language and research achievements already got,we cleared the standard of classifying chunk and relationgships with otherconcepts—word, phrase,sayings and sentence. We classified Chinese chunk into two bigkinds: word-level chunk&sentence-level chunk. The former include that, fixedchunk,collocated chunk and framed-phrase chunk. The later included that, regularchunk,framed-sentence chunk and commen-spoken-sentence chunk.《Intermediate Spoken Chinese》is commenly recognized in spoken teaching.Our article analysed and summarized chunks in this book and gave some suggestionsbased on Chunks of language the theory on how to write teaching materials.At thesame time, we survey senior foreign students’ compositions, and we gave somesuggestions on how to teach Chinese.We believe that, Chunks of language theory will prome Chinese-teaching. So,weadvanced that it’s necessary to sort out chunks and to applicate it into teaching.Teachersshoud change teaching-concepts, intensify chunk-awareness,teach chunk from start tofinish.
