Kim-yoo-jung is an outstanding writer of North Korea’s literary world before therecovery. In the1930s, satire was accounting for the main position, but Kim-yoo-jungwas very popular by using the unique banter nature. Although the banter literature hasalready revealed in ancient literature, but Kim-yoo-jung’s banter has his own featurewhat is different from the others. Kim-yoo-jung’s novels whether in figures, themes orstylistic all reveal the beauty of the banter. Although Kim-yoo-jung’s banter is oftenamusing but it is not an entertaining tool. He uses a relaxed atmosphere to imply moreprofound social problems indirectly. So far, the studies of Kim-yoo-jung novels’ bantermostly stopped at understanding and discussing the manifestations of the banter. In thispaper, on the basis of referring to the results of previous studies and combining toKim-yoo-jung’s life to identify the cause of Kim-yoo-jung’s banter, and the relationshipbetween Kim-yoo-jung’s banter and the ancient banter. With the understanding ofKim-yoo-jung’s banter feature, analysis the special characteristics of Kim-yoo-jung’sbanter deep into his novels and explore the contribution of the Kim-yoo-jung’s banter inmodern Korean literary history.
