Philosophical Reflection Of The Western Aestheticism

The theoretical banner of Western aestheticism is "Art for art’s sake", aesthetes think "beauty" is different from truth and moral, also,I is independent from life, they are the unique value of beauty, beauty play an important role in the history of Western aestheticism and Western philosophy. Meanwhile it has many views need to introspect. On the basis of introducing the traditional aestheticism and the contemporary aestheticism. This article discusses and analyses aestheticism from the following two sides.First.it studies the value and enlightenment of Western aestheticism. Through studying related but different relationship between beauty and truth or moral, we can get a further idea about the intrinsic value of art, also it is useful to wide the artists and audiences ’fields of vision, flourish the aesthetic ideology, and correct the tendency of putting undue emphasis on the arts’ instrument value. Second, introspecting the theoretical dilemma about de-humanization of art and the realistic dilemma about the separation from society. In the first place, by knowing the contemporary aestheticism, we can introspect the essence the primal problems of the foreign scholars’ controversies between de-humanization art and re-humanization art. To the traditional aestheticism’s dilemma about de-humanization of art, the contemporary aestheticism thinks de-humanization art has the potential to re-humanization art, it raise a new aestheticism as an alternative. This article regards art and life can go hand in hand. In the second place, it may bring some the realistic dilemmas to separate art and life totally. This article thinks admitting the importance of the pure beauty does not means admitting the absolute separation between art and moral, form and content.Without regard to the social impacts and moral benefits may cause many aesthetic defects which conflict our traditional moral attitudes. Therefore, it is necessary for our study to reiterate their relationships from practical angle. Though these studies,the article is aimed at helping us to introspect the traditional Western philosophy which always put ration first and define the aestheticism as Decadentism, in order to get the unique value of Western aestheticism, and overcome the utilitarian tendency of art. At the same time, this introspection can help us know and solve the aesthetic dilemmas, as a result, we can deal with the relationships between art and moral or form and content, besides, we can create and discover the beauty according to the law of beauty.
