With the advancement of the recent2nd Curriculum Reform, theimportance of reflection in teaching to develop the teacherscapability/skill has been increasing recognized. It has attracted theattention from both scholars and practitioner. The research oneducational reflection has been a focus both home and abroad.However, there is little study on this subject on primary school teachers.Whats the current status? Which strategy of reflection is effective forteachers in primary school? This paper discusses a forensic research onthis subject in School S.The paper made a literature research on this topic; and based onthat, the significance of "reflection","reflection in teaching" and"capability to reflect " is discusses; and the structure and process ofreflection is illustrated. A survey on reflective thinking in teaching isconducted in School S with questionnaire and interviews. Analysis ismade on the teachers understanding of the reflection, the focus ofreflection and the popular method used and the factors to drive thedevelopment of capability to reflect. It is pointed out that theawareness of reflective thinking among primary school teachers hasbeen elevated, and the schools also take it seriously from the point ofteaching management, and a variety of methods are used forreflection. However, there are still some issues, such as teachers ignoreto take a student development perspective in the process of reflection,there is not enough emphasis on theoretical guidance, thedevelopment of reflective capacity among teachers is not balanced,teachers are often busy dealing with clerical work and have less timefor meditation and reflection. The paper also made recommendationson strategy to promote the development reflective thinking capabilityfor the primary school teachers. It is suggested that the teachers should enhance their learning and research, develop the habit to reflect, andadopt more approaches to reflect. While school administration shouldchange the way to manage, setting tiered requirements, and focus onexchanges.By studying the current status of the teaching reflection in School Sas an example, this paper is aimed to reveal the common issues intodays teaching reflection among primary school teachers to drivemore effective reflections among the teachers for their professionaldevelopment.
