Study On The Development Of Charity Schools In Diqing Prefecture,Yunnan Province(1978-2010)

With thirty years of reform and opening up, the charity schools in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan province have been experiencing a silently but extraordinary development course. This paper focuses on this dynamic process of development, trying to portray the true state of the charity schools. In this way, we could offer external aid and study them better. At the same time, it gives the local charity schools some valuable opinions.According to the different development characteristics, the history of Diqing charity schools could divide into three parts:the gestation period (1978-1996), Renaissance (1997-2001) and new development (2002-2010). The main achievement is reflected in the tamping of the material foundation, the improvement of the teaching and management, the spirit of the characters. At the same time, this paper points out three dilemmas of charity schools:the insufficient legitimation, low-level management, frequent movement of the volunteers. On the basis, the author puts forward the improvement proposal.
