Objective:In this study, we would understand the effect of Wuqinxi on the core strength of the elderly and research that how could Wuqinxi improve the body’s balance and coordination, as well as preventing and treating chronic low back disorders by analysing the changes of core strength of the elderly before and after the practice of Wuqinxi,which could provide a new way of thinking for the fitness role of it.Method:There are7055-65year-old objects,whose core strength(be represented by the flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation of the core area)were measured before and after a six-month practice of Wuqinxi to be acknowledged of the effect of that on core strength of the elderly.Result:The male practitioners’ strength quality of flexion, extension,left rotation and right rotation had shown a statistically significant increase,while the result had been get by female practitioners only in the front three projects.Conclusion:(1)Getting a long-time practice of Wuqinxi can help the elderly with increasing the core strength.(2)the effect of Wuqinxi on core strength has a decreasing tend from flexion and extension to rotation,while there’s little effect on lateral flexion.(3) This study is intended to understand the effect of practise Wuqingxi to the elderly core strength through practising Wuqinxi to research the core strength change. And to explore the function to increase the body balance,coordination capacity and the role of principle to preventing and treating chronic back low back disorders. The study is in order to provide a new way of thinking of the health Qigong Wuqinxi. Method:there are70elders from55-65years old were been our target to measuring the core strength(including the core flexion, extension,lateral flexion, rotation power quality)change before and after6months practice,and to understand the effect of elder’s core strength. Result:the men who use the left-right rotating, flexion four projects strength quality have shown a statistically significant increase. The women who use the left rotation and flextion have shown a statistically significant increase. Conclusion:(1) The elderly who get a long-term practise wuqingxi contribute to increase the core strength.(2) The most influent is the power of flextion, extension,followed by the rotation force,lateral flexion has little effect.(3)The impact of wuqinxi on core strength has a gender difference that the core strength increasing of the male practitioners is more obvious than that of the female ones.
