Community Environmental Behavior:Waste Separation And Recovery Mechanisms Research

This study aims at making a research on representation and characteristics of environmental behavior in the Chinese community from a sociological point of departure. On the basis of environmental behavior at home and abroad,the study takes a full account of the current status of the Chinese community, combined with foreign advanced theory related. Based on the lack of present research in China, the study attempts to make a definition on community environmental behavior by expatiating the impact factors and its characteristics of the community environmental behavior systematicly, holisticly and with operable.The first part of the paper briefly describes the background to the study, meaning, purpose, basic research and research methods. Waste separation and recovery is raised in the context of increasingly severe modern urban environment.The rapid economic development and continuous improvement of living standards have made a rapid increase in household waste,which becomes thorny problem in the urban environmental governance.Therefore, research on community waste separation and recovery mechanism has also been of great significance.The concept of environmental behavior in sociology doesn’t has a long existence, and is still fresh field. In the second part of the paper,the study summarizes definitions of the concept of environmental behavior raised by relevant scholars.And in parti cular,Cui Feng and other scholars’views on the classification of the environmental behavior are described in detail.According to his classification, the environmental behavior is divided into Individual Environmental Behavior, Group Environmental Behavior and Organization Environmental Behavior. Community environmental behavior belongs to one of the important classification of Group Environmental Behavior. The study made a detailed review in section II, including the specific description of the research at home and abroad.The third part is survey report on waste separation and recovery status of TianFuyuan community,Qingdao.The first section of this part is summary and analysis on waste separation and recovery theories raised by scholars home and abroad. Combined with the practical experience of waste separation in the major developed countries,the study made an research conclusion on waste classification status quo of major cities in China.In the second section, waste separation and recovery regulations and the status quo of Qingdao city is described in detail. To obtain more first-hand information,the author have done a lot of interviews and survey of district residents,which supports further research on community environmental behavior.In the fourth and fifth part,the study summarizes the influencing factors and characteristics of the community environmental behavior via survey report on waste separation and recovery status of TianFuyuan community. Analysis of community environmental behavior influencing factors are the following:satisfaction of environmental impact Community environmental behavior, environmental knowledge level impact community environmental behavior, age level impact community environmental behavior,income level impact community environmental behavior mass media and government plays a dominant role for community environmental behavior.The main features of community environmental behavior are herd characteristics, policy, advocacy dependence and high environmental awareness, low action participation.
