Private vocational colleges are an important part in higher education. On the one hand, private vocational colleges aim at training advanced practical talents to meet the needs of local economy and social development. On the other hand, private vocational colleges have to form their own characteristics in schooling within a short period of time so as to win social prestige. Compared with public vocational colleges, they face greater pressure from survival and development. Thus, the need of team-building is more urgent.With the development of quality engineering, great attention is paid to teaching team-building in colleges and universities. Especially for private vocational colleges, they are lack of high-level professional leaders, their teachers are relatively young, and are in need of professional and technical personnel with business background,all these factors have hindered further development of these colleges, with teaching team building being he main obstacle. Therefore private vocational colleges cannot directly follow the public ones in team building, but should break through the traditional academic indicators, so as to make great use of the practical and pragmatic abilities of the experts from business and provide students with realistic teaching and learning environment. This paper takes Ningbo Dahongying University as an example, aiming at conducting research on the team building among the teaching stuff in computer science department. By adopting questionnaires, interviews and etc, the paper analyses relevant questions like how to adapt to vocational teaching, how to improve research and teaching capacities, and how to participate actively in social service, and finally put forward the aim and methods of team-building. Through establishing team goals, appointing team leaders and team members, clarifying responsibilities among team members, establishing communication mechanism and carrying out projects, the goals to adapt to the teaching needs and improving consciousness in research among teaching stuff have been realized. Young teachers have benefited a lot and the whole level of the stuff has been enhanced.
