Writing is the output of activity, is the manifestation of students’ English comprehensivecompetence. There are many researches at home and abroad in writing, but the EnglishTeaching in junior high school," writing" is one of the four basic skills training of the weakestlink. Writing is often neglected by teachers, disregard by students, and student’s writingability compared with other aspects is relatively weak. While the proportion of writing insenior high school entrance examination increases year by year. Therefore teachers are inurgent need of a teaching method which can improve writing ability. This study is based onKrashen’s input theory and Swan’s output theory, explored the theories in English writingteaching.The paper firstly analyzes the current situation and existing problems in English writingin the junior high school, and points out the importance of this research. According to theobjectives in new English curriculum standard for writing, related domestic and abroadresearch writing and language input theory and output theory research, the author putsforward that language input and output in the junior high school writing teaching can improvestudents’ writing ability.In order to verify the effect, the author takes the students of two classes in Grade Nine ofDalian NO.29Middle School over a period of sixteen weeks teaching experiment. Throughthe analysis of the data, the author finds the experimental group students’ writing ability ishigher than control group. This shows that in the junior high school the input theory andoutput theory in improving students’ writing ability is effective.
