With the rapid development of economy, education is also innovating to meet the needs of today’s social and economic development. The current imbalance of economic development and social stratification conditions leads to a lot of inequalities in different social stratum. Different socio-economic background families have different family capital, which leads to the differences in cultural and educational resources. Therefore, the unequal educational opportunities and the academic achievement differences caused by the family capital differences have objective necessity. However, the family capital have great influence on the obtaining of good resources, equal access to education, quality of education equity and social status. The disadvantaged families’children have an unequal position in the beginning, process and result of education, that directly effect the obtaining of academic achievement. It can be said, to a certain extent, the family capital differences reflects the academic achievement differences, which highlights the equity issues of the education of disadvantaged families’children. It’s not conductive to the educational fair and not conductive to harmonious development of society. Promote educational equity, and promote balanced development of education is one of the important goals of compulsory education. It is necessary to focus on the influence of family capital to the academic achievements.This dissertation tries to analyze the different academic achievements between different background families from micro-level and educational sociology point of view. It use two junior high school student as research object, by comparing the two families’family capital, it discusses in what ways that the family capital influence the academic achievement, and how the family capital affect students’academic achievement. By comparative analysis, it is concluded that the different amount of family capital accumulation have result in significant difference in academic achievement. Family capital rich families can provide their kids good material environment, good cognitive environment and other help, which can help children to get good academic record, good learning attitude and good communication skill in school groups. But the family capital poor family is just the opposite.
