The number of women who receive higher education,compared with the one of men, is increasing more rapidly these years.There has been an increaing number of female players in many societal domains which used to be domained by male counterparts.Therefore,the research studies the female graduate students’achievement motivation,in order to analyze their intrinsic psychology.With a clearer understanding of their achievement motivation,higher education practioners will be able to better cultivate female graduate students in the delivery of educational goals.The research adopts both questionaire and in-depth interview in data collection.Based on the theoretical framework of achievement motivation underpinned by related references,the characteristics and diversification of female graduate students’ achievement motivation have been analysed.It is found that most female graduate students confine finding a good job as an achievement goal;They psychologically hope to be accepted and favored by others; Unstable factor,for example hardwork,has been attributed to failure;They pursue for the balance of career and family;Outstanding performance or excellent achievement during the educational process stimulate their achievement motivation,also internalize their concept of success; Intence social competition and public higher education by which female graduate students’ achievement motivation is shaked, gradually weaken students’ superiority.For pursuit of self-realization,they’d like to take challenges with realistic attitude through practical action, which is pleasant.Both challenges and opportunity have been brought to women during the development of society.Only consistent efforts of society,school and family can have female graduate students obtain more confidence in their pursuit of self-development.
