The Evaluation About The Economic Contribution To Dalian City Produced By Dalian Port

Nearly all ports and cities all over the world follow the common law that "the port supported by the city, the city promoted by the port, the port and the city get the prosperity together" in the process of development. The development of port drives the prosperity of the city, in turn, the prosperity of the city promotes the development of the port. The relationship of mutual promotion between city and port to each other’s development is very important. Therefore, the evaluation of the economic contribution on the hinterland by the port, the research about the coordinate development between the port and the region’s economy has attracted more and more attention in port and shipping area, the article is just based on this background. Firstly, it has elaborated the function and its changes of port, the meaning and characteristics of regional economy, the interaction between port and regional economic, the direct, indirect and induced economic contribution to city produced by port. Secondly, it has summarized the developing situation of Dalian Port and Dalian City, analyzed the process of evolution of the relationship about the development of Dalian Port and Dalian City. Then, it has analyzed the economic contribution to Dalian City from Dalian Port by making the input-output table of port.According to the producing situation of Dalian Port, its main business has been classified to the industry of loading and unloading and other transportation services, water transportation, warehousing, railway transportation and construction. Thus, it has built the matrix of transforming coefficient, and made the input-output table of 43 sectors including independent port industry through operations of matrix. On the basis of the input-output table of 43 sectors, it has assessed the direct, indirect and induced economic contribution to Dalian City from Dalian Port using the input-output method and multiplier method.The result has showed that the contribution produced by Dalian Port on the GDP, worker’s income, employment and tax of Dalian City is great. When Dalian Port achieved one Yuan’s income, it will create 22.20 yuans’GDP,11.37 yuans’worker income,3.08 yuans’tax income, job by 0.91×10-4 for Dalian City. Dalian Port has created 95.027 billion yuans’GDP,13.175 billion yuans’tax,390.3 thousand jobs to Dalian city in 2011, the contribution rate to the current GDP, tax and employment of Dalian city is respectively 15.45%,8.97% and 15.45%. Dalian Port has a close correlation with other industries, and it has high level on consumption and distribution to the up and down industries. Dalian Port has great influence and strong sensitivity to other departments of the national economy, and has very big promoting effect to the development of other department. Finally, it has put forward relevant countermeasures to promote the better and faster development of Dalian Port and enhance the economic contribution to Dalian City produced by Dalian Port further.
