With the development of world’s economy and society,traditional energy sources such as oil and coal has been unable to meet the needs of economic development and environmental protection,this makes people urgently need an efficient alternative sources of energy.Uranium is a kind of important strategic resources.It can be used as a basic material for nuclear power plants and nuclear submarine,an it is a material for Nuclear weapon as well,so it has an important position in the construction of national defense and national economy.But the uranium is a radioactive metal rare,the content in the crust is very small,The probability for formation of industrial deposits aslo small,so the uranium exploration is particularly urgent.A basin is one of the important energy base in China,it is a large inland depression basin during the Mesozoic,the exploration area of middle east ministry uranium resources has made breakthrough progress.In order to cope with the uranium prospecting in the north-west of the basin,we choose the EH4magnetotelluric sounding system as the main survey instrument.EH4has been applied successfully in many metallic ore exploration,this method also can geta good effect in uranium exploration.Compared to the other electrical instrument,EH4has the following features:it has probing depth, high precision, better resolution,and the instrument is portable equipment, observation time is short, its data interpretation is simple.It use the resistivity difference between the ore body and wall rock and structure to find favorable ore-forming space.The existence of two different electrical interface area and the difference in electric character of rock provide geophysical prerequisite objective for Magnetotelluric measurements.Based on the collection of the available geological and geophysical data, we use EH4instrument for prospecting the uranium deposit in some area of A Basin. Through processing and interpretation the data of EH4,we divide the stratigraphic units and different lithology combination of this area, roughly delineates the minimum depth map and geological unit of objective layer, and analyzed the characteristics of the objective layer in each geological unit, inferred and interpreted5fault structures.Overall revealed the stratigraphic structure and morphology of working area.Provides the data basis for evaluation of uranium resources exploration in this area.
