In recent years, with the rapid development of satellite technology, GPStechnology has infiltrated into people’s work and life. Because of the growth of people’srequirements of Navigation and the development of multi-mode integrated navigationsystem, The internal structure and algorithm of the GPS receiver is alwayschanging.The receiver which is based on FPGA and DSP have the advantages offlexibility and the ability to load different algorithm,and it has higher real-timeperformance than the software receiver which is also flexible. Therefore, the researchand design of the GPS receiver based on FPGA and DSP is very significant.This article describes the design and implement of the GPS receiver based onFPGA+DSP architecture. The main content of the paper are as follows:The signal processing of the GPS receiver is introduced. Search strategy anddetection methods of acquisition Algorithm which is used in this article are obtained.The way of Phase detection and frequency detection in tracking loop and parameters ofloop-filter are introduced. The structure of the navigation message and synchronizationalgorithm are obtained. The method of calculating the position of receiver is introducedby derivation of formula.The structure of traditional GPS hardware receiver and software receiver isintroduced.The advantages and disadvantages of both is analyzed.Campare them withthe GPS receiver based on FPGA+DSP and conclude that the latter is as flexible assoftware receiver and also has higher real-time performance as hardware receiver. Thearticle describes the hardware platform of GPS receiver based on FPGA+DSP,anddivide the whole algorithm into two part. Correlation is implemented in FPGA and therest algorithm is implemented in DSP.Complete the design of correlation and other interface in FPGA.Analyze of thecorrectness of each module by functional simulation.Initial the PLLC,Timer and EMIFof DSP,and implement the rest GPS algorithm in DSP.Finally, Test the results ofacquisition, tracking and positioning.
