As human society entered the ocean era, the development of West-Straits Economic Area also openeda new chapter. Around the coast of southeast China mainland, Changle-nan’ao fault’s crustal deformation isvery conspicuous. In this dissertation, we mainly used the geodesy technology, combined with somemathematics physical model to study the regional crustal deformation characteristics and the3-D activitiesof the fault plane.According to the research of this article, a series results are presented as follow:(1)The calculation of strain fields must based on the spherical or ellipsoid reference. Based on thepredecessors’ study results, this article made a further deduce about the mathematical model depend on amore closely structure.(2)This article obtained the relative velocity field of the study area, which describe a N-W crustaldeformation trend within the plate of the study area.(3)Through the spherical strain model, I obtained the homogeneous strain field of the study area. Thestress field of the fault zone mostly comes from the joint control function of the Indian plate and thePhilippine plate.(4)Limited by the monitoring technology and the observation data, there only exist a theoric differencebetween the spherical method and ellipsoid method. It has no obviously effect about the distribution of thestrain field.(5)Combined with the gradient distribution of the vertical deformation, this article make theconclusion that the crustal deformation trends of the study area could be regard as uplift and N-E tension(6) A kind of geodetic nonlinear inversion algorithm called PSO is mainly used for the inversioncalculation of the fault’s3-D characteristics. The result shows that the fault’s3-D activities have aasymmetry character.
