Land is important both to people’s livelihood and the foundation of a nation, the landecological security (LES) is not only an important part of ecological security, but alsorelate to the security of a nation. LES is derived on the basis of ecological security.Theestablishment of evaluation index system of LES as well as to determine the safetythreshold grading is a hot research field of LES.Construction in mountain area is an important content of building a prosperoussociety. The evaluation of land ecological security is the fundament of land ecologyconstruction,and the premise of planning land.It is the necessary process of achievingsustainable development of in mountain Area. The paper was based on grid GIS toevaluate land ecological security of in mountain Area. Index system and method about theevaluation of land ecological security was constructed in this paper,.And took YongDeCounty, which is in Yunnan province,as the research object. In this paper land ecologicalsecurity of YongDe,in its2009,was evaluated, and the results of evaluation are verified.The contents of the research are as follow:①Analying the impact factor of Mountain landecological security.②constructing index system and method of land ecological evaluation.③With the help of grid GIS technology,to evaluate ecological security of mountainous land.④Evaluating land ecological security of Yongde, and puting forward some constructivesuggestions and comments. The conclusions of the thesis are as follows:①With the help ofgrid GIS technology to evaluate land ecological security, narrowed the scope of evaluationunit, which directly reflects the administrative region within the space difference of landecological security.②In the evaluation index system, the weight of natural factors(0.618)>the weight of economic factors(0.297)>the weight of social factors(0.086),so naturalfactors is the dominant factor which affects the mountainous land ecological security. Inparticular, the weight of farmland (0.148), the weight of slope above25degrees(0.12),the weight of the surface erosion (0.082) are significantly higher than other indicators. Sofarmland is the first natural factor, steep slope is the second natural factor, and the surfaceerosion is the third natural factor.③Through the verification, evaluation result is reliable.In YongDe country,the best of land security accounts for53.68%of the total area, better area of land security accounts for43.29%of the total area, that in pre-warning statesaccounted for2.28%of the total area, that in a state of dangerous accounts for00.61%ofthe total area,that of grave danger accounts for0.14%of the total area. In the end,according to the results of the evaluation, some constructive suggestions and commentswas putted forward.
