In recent years, navigation terminal which is based on Beidou satellite navigation system(BDS) has been widely used in various industries and fields. Currently, there are fournavigation systems: GPS system, GLONASS system, GALILEO system, Beidou (BEIDOU)systems. In the future, the average annual growth rate of navigation market on mobileterminal in China will reach99percent. However, the current situation of the navigation ofthe mobile terminal is that more than94%of the market is the use of GPS navigation mobileterminal technology, while the Beidou satellite navigation system (BDS) market share is lessthan3percent of China’s total market share. At present, Chinese government and relevantdepartments of Science and Technology are attend to promote the development of the civilservice industry of Beidou satellite navigation system. Chinese goverment provides a widerange of civil service in December27,2012.The purpose of this paper is that to design a mobile terminal which is based on thesemi-open-source operating system Android, and the Beidou navigation BD-228module, toprovide the civil service of Beidou satellite navigation system.The mobile terminal is must to ensuring that the user of the mobile terminal can receive signalfrom navigation satellite at any place, any time.The main work is as follows:(1) This study was carried out mobile terminal system underlying hardware driver layerand application layer software design and development. According to the development of thisproject demands, the OK6410development board which is based on ARM family ofprocessors and the BD-228module is selected. At fist, this study is aim to do some migrationon ARM-based Android operating system, and write the drive module on Android system.(2) This study analyzes NMEA0183protocol, and compare with GPS signal formats andBeidou positioning signal formats, design and implement Beidou positioning signal analysismodule. Based on this signal analysis module, the system would collected Beidou navigationand positioning information, and passed the location data to the upper application.(3) This study analyzes the Android system architecture, summarizes the process of datatransfer GPS signals from the hardware to the GIS software, modifies and realizes the driver module.So Beidou positioning data transmitted to the upper layer as same as GPS positioningdata.The process is transparent to the upper layer application,so that the design presents theloosely coupled ideas between module embodied and hardware.(4) This study designes and implements the graphical interface of Android system, andachieve positioning, tracking and other functions which are based on Beidou positioningmodule and offline map function module.(5) This study designes and implements an offline map module function, map coordinatesconversion algorithm, and navigation and positioning function module, so that to implementthe Mobile Tracking System on Android.
