In this paper, Suxian mining district was selected as the research object, the geological and hydrogeological conditions were studied. Based on the studied of Taiyuan formation limestone borehole columnar,limestone cores, well logging curve, simple hydrological observations, limestone water quality,pumping test, water releasing test, underground exploration.The limestone thickness distribution law, ancient topography distribution of tectonic development characteristics, limestone water chemistry characteristics, groundwater flow field, karst development situation, dissolved control mechanism as well as limestone rich water system were analysed. Made the following main results and understanding:1. The main Limestone karst development of forms are corrosion cracks and dissolved pore in Suxian mining districts, among which the dissolution fissures is mainly. The geological history of the development of the mine area, the distribution of the surface water, limestone formation lithology rhythmic variation in the vertical direction as well as climate and other factors are the main reasons.2. Taiyuan formation limestone is more stable development in the region, generally14storeys, three of them gray, four gray and12gray are thicker than others. Three and four gray due to burial depth and thickness, karst relatively developed strong, and have richer water. Five gray and the following layers of limestone larger due to the depth in relatively closed the geological environment is not conducive to the development of karst conditions, karst development in general and the poor rich water.3. Through the analysis of the influence of solution mechanism control, in Suxian mining district, the factors of karst development are mainly limestone chemical composition and mineral composition, ancient landform, tectonic control, groundwater flow field.The ancient landform, tectonic control and groundwater flow field impact especially, And this is the main cause of Sunan mining area and the Sudong mining area of karst development and water abundance of limestone with lager difference.4. According to the study of the take rate of limestone, limestone well logs, simple hydrological observation results, pumping test, water releasing test and underground exploration, Karst development in the plane and the vertical have large difference in Suxian mining district. The shallow limestone karst is well developed, below300m in the relatively closed environment, karst development and rich water property is poor. All in all, karst development and rich water propertyha have large differences and heterogeneity in Suxian mining district.
