The genus Diplonevra belongs to subfamily Phorinae, family Phoridae, superfamilyPhoroidea, order Diptera. Presently85species were known worldwide and6species fromChina. The species of genus Diplonevra distributed in almost all zoogeographical regionexcept Antarctica. They were mainly distributed in Palaearctic region. The taxonomic statusof genus Diplonevra is very important because of its rich biodiversity. The Biodiversityresources of China can be supplemented, the cognition of Phoridae phylogeny can bepromoted, the theoretical basis of pest control and beneficial insect use can be provided bythis taxonomy study.During the study, more than200specimens of genus Diplonevra collected from16provinces or autonomous regions of China were prepared and identified. In this paper,14species were recorded, of which5species were described as new to science and3specieswere reported for the first time in China. The further distribution records for4known specieswere added about7provides in China. The international research situation of genusDiplonevra was introduced. The distinctive traits of genus Diplonevra were described. Themorphological characteristics and geographical distribution of genus Diplonevra wereintroduced in detail. In this paper,117photos were shot by micro-imaging camera,139figures were drawn. The key to species(male)were given.New species of genus Diplonevra from China (5species):D. vecticrassa sp.nov., D. furcavectis sp.nov., D. brevicauda sp.nov., D. spinibotrasp.nov., D. angulata sp.nov.New records from China (3species):D. funebris (Meigen), D. pachycera (Schmitz), D. florea (Fabricius).
