Located at Luxi metallogenic belt covering the southeast of Nishan relief in Luzhong uplift zone, Lanling Iron lies approximately45km southeast of Cangyi Iron, which is an important iron deposit in Shandong Province. The strata at this area prominently consist of massive cap rocks (550-800m in depth) dating back from Tumen group of Neoproterozoic age and Cambrian system of Paleozoic age even to Quaternary system cover and the iron ore-bearing metamorphic basement(>3000m in depth) of Shancaoyu formation, Taishan group of Neoarchean age. Characterized by preferentially metallogenic and geological background and outstanding geophysical anomaly, this area is very potential for deep mineral exploration.This paper made a systematic exposition about the geological and geophysical characteristics of Lanling mine. In addition, it summed up the magnetic anomaly features of the study area,and proposed four importantanomaly areas of finding magnetic geological body. The following conclusions can be got according the engineering validation about magnetic anomalous zone of Lanlingwest:①The iron-rich metamorphic rocks and geophysical magnetic anomaly are important regional symbols of exploration, by field geological investigationand indoor comprehensive study.②We can summarize the basic mineralization laws and establishments prospecting model of such iron ore combing the achievements of emphasis exploration areas and geophysical anomaly features of mining area.③It can be considered that the lanling area has the potential to form large Anshan iron mine on the basis ofcomprehensive study and according to the establishedprospectingmodels. What’s more, it points out the important exploring direction and indicts the resources reservation, which have a certain reference value to the next geological exploration work of this area.
