Xiuyan Jade, a long history of development, is one of four famous jade in China,which occupy a important position in the development of jade culture. The paper based onproject from Liaoning metallurgical geological exploration bureau, and carried on studyabout ore-forming regularity and prospecting indictor of the Xiuyan jade deposit in orderto provide basis for following prospecting.The Liaonan area is important base for mineral of jade, and jade deposit is hosted bythe middle part of Liaonan terrane ancient rift zone. According to development of tectonicposition of orebody can be divided into south and north ore belt. The Beiwagou miningarea in south belt is serpentine jade type, and Xiyugou and Xiejiapu area is tremolitenephrite type except for serpentine jade type. The oredobies of tremolite nephrite type ismainly hosted by NW-trending ductile deformation tectonic belt in Liaohequn Dashiqiaogroup three section tremolite dolomite marble. The orebodies occurred as irregular veinshape and lentoid shape, and boundary is obvious between orebodies and wall rock. Thewall rock is composed of steatitization, serpentinization and tremolite. Serpentinizationbelt is concentrated with orebodies occurred as vein shape, veinlet shape and lentoid shape,which controlled by ductile shear zone. Vein of jade is mainly veinlet serpentine, withminor impurity.The ore mineralogy contains serpentine and tremolite, and impurith minerals arecomposed by dolomite, calcite, magnesite, epidote and actinolite. According tocomposition of jade, the jade can be divide into three types: serpentine jade (content ofserpentine is95%), tremolite nephrite (content of tremolite-actinolite is over95%) andserpentine marble (mainly fine grani dolomite, content of serpentine is10-65%). Serpentine jade occurred as scale crystalloblastic texture, metasomatic relict texture andmassive structure and vein structure. Xiuyan nephrite present as microaphanitic texture,porphyritic texture, crystalloblastic texture and massive structure or schistose structure.The formed process of Xiuyan jade is divided into regional metamorphism andmigmatization skarnized stage, hydrothermal metasomatic alteration stage and supergeneleaching effect stage. The ore-forming materials are mainly come from wall rock, andore-forming age is the Proterozoic (800-1800Ma) and genetic of the deposit belongs tosuperposition of metamorphic-magmatic hydrothermal.Research results showed that magmatic activity, tectonism and ore-bearing wall rockis important ore-forming condition for Xiuyan jade deposit. The Xiuyan jade mineralizedbelt, and time and space of orebodies is obvisouly controlled by magma, tectonic andore-bearing wall rock, which is maximum characterisitic of ore-forming regularity for theXiuyan jade.
