The research object of this paper is Chang6oil formation of the Huangling area in Ordos basin. In order to clear the characteristics of the stratigrahic sequence, provenance characteristics, sedimentary facies characteristics and oil and gas geological significance of such, based on advanced works and theories of sediment logy, contracting on the actual area, combing with outcrops, core observations, geophysics and geochemistry to study those problems.Firstly, to classification and correlate the stratum, by the way of flag layer, logging data, cycle contrast, we compared and regulated the stratigraphic information. Will be Chang6formation is divided into three small layers:Chang63, Chang62, Chang61. At the same time, in view of the regional characteristics of the development of turbidity and turbidite sand bodies of Chang63, which in turn is divided into three smaller units, Chang63s, Chang632, Chang631. Strive to fine research.Secondly, the study confirmed the source directions of Chang6are mainly from northeast, southwest, and south direction. The source rocks of northeast proveniences come from Daqing and Yin mountains, southwest source come from Longxi ancient land, and south source come from Qinling mountains. Our study area is located in the lake basin sedimentary center, the meandering river delta deposition in the northeast and southwest of braided river sedimentation, the influence of the main development of deepwater turbidite fan of lake basin sedimentary microfacies, which can be divided into slope turbidite fan and creeping tuibidite fan.Finally, contact the achievements with the existing research area actual situation, combined with group of the birth, reservoir and cover of the tuibidite rock in Chang6region, on the plane and vertical geological significance for oil accumulation are discussed, analyzed the good physical property of tuibidite sandstone reservoir. It has a certain reference value for next exploration and development in Huangling area.
