Oil and gas reserves is the major contents of national resource management and plan which not only can instruct production in different stages of oil field development but it is the basement of compiling middle and long-term plans of oil and gas exploration and development. The result of reserves evaluation is straight relation to making up oil and gas field development program and deployment, and of carrying out oil and gas field development (adjustment) plan design and performance an analysis .so study on up the resource forecast methods is a very important.Firstly, the paper is reviewed the resource forecast methods, analyzed briefly their basic feature and suitable ranges. Then base on the study of resource forecast methods this paper chooses a series of optimum method which include the Wengcycle method, the Weibull method, the Log-normal-distribution method, the Logistic method, the H-C-Z method, the Gray system method, the oil and gas pool scale sequence method and the Montecarlo method. On the basis of the above principles, the author has programmed a software system with VC, and applied it to the resource evaluation of some oilfields. It is verified that the selected methods and software can be used to resource evolution correctly and effectively, and to raise the working efficiency. At last, based on the application of resource evaluation, the conclusion and viewpoint had been put forward.
