The mold has become a critical part of the continuous casting equipments, which iscalled the heart of continuous caster by the researchers, while the oscillation technique ofthe mold has become a key technology of continuous casting, the reasonable selection ofoscillation waveform and parameters of the mold have significant effect on the slab quality.Hot charging and direct rolling not only save energy, but also shorten the processing cycle,so more and more people pay attention to the high efficient continuous casting technology,which is based on high quality and takes high casting speed as the core. The hydraulicnon-sinusoidal oscillation technique of mold is one of the key technology of high efficientcontinuous casting, which can adjust amplitude, frequency and distortional rate of sinuouswave flexiblely so as to get the best negative strip and mold powder flowing in the processof continuous casting.This project is aimed at reducing the oscillation mark depth, increasing theconsumption of mold powder and improveing the surface quality of slab by the research ofmold oscillation waveform and parameters, so as to reduce the grinding losses due tooscillation mark of the slab.The key content of this paper consists of the construction of the non-sinusoidalwaveform, the research of the reverse control model and the optimization of the oscillationparameters and so on. Based on the sinuous wave, a non-sinusoidal waveform isconstructed successfully. The function expressions of negative strip time, positive striptime, negative strip rate, negative strip amount and other process parameters are given bycorrect and reasonable formula derivation, at the same time, the synchro-control modelbetween the oscillation parameters were established. Combined with reverse controlmodel and twenty oscillation parameters provided by SIEMENS VAI, the confirm processof the oscillation parameters were analysed successfully, which provides a theoreticalguidance for the establishment of continuous casting process. At the same time, GraphicalUser Interfaces of reverse control model was designed with GUIDE Editing Interface ofMATLAB. The prediction models of oscillation mark depth and consumption of moldpowder were developed, besides, the effect of the oscillation parameters on the surface quality of slab were discussed, which provides a theoretical basis for the optimization ofthe oscillation parameters in the process of production.
