The shape and thickness of the plate is two of the most important indicators ofproduct quality. In the process of rolling,there is the coupling relationship between shapeand thickness of the plate. It is the important methods for further improving the quality ofproducts to remove the coupling relationship between shape and thickness of the plate.Therefore, it is an important research subject to research decoupling control for shape andthickness of the plate comprehensive system. In this paper, it is based on the study ofdomestic and foreign status report about the shape and thickness of the plate, and adoptsthe method of combining theory with experiment. It will remove the coupling relationshipbetween shape and thickness of the plate, and provide reliable reference for the research ofthe decoupling control between them.In this paper, it includes several different aspects for this research. As follow:First of all, it is to build mathematical model of300cold rolling mill which isdescribed by the state equation. Under the several linear hypothesis condition of rollingmill, it is build transfer function matrix of the plate’s shape and thickness ofcomprehensive system, and made the minimum order realization of the transfer functionmatrix, and translated into the state equations for the shape and thickness of the platecomprehensive system.Secondly, it is analyzed to the state equation established, and the optimization thestructure of system. Within the linear range, it is designed the integrator decouplingcontrol law and the desired poles decoupling control law for the shape and thickness of theplate system by the state space method. Within the nonlinear range, and it is designed theneural network model reference adaptive decoupling controller. They are used torespectively decoupling control the shape and thickness of the plate comprehensive system,and used the Matlab/Simulink analysis software to analysis and simulate the decouplingsystem.Finally, it will do the decoupling experiment for the shape and thickness of the plateon300cold rolling mill in the steel rolling laboratory of Yan Shan University. In the experimentation, the displacement of depressive cylinder will be feedback to the controlsystem in the thickness control system. At the same time, it will collect the experimentaldata of thickness plate. The pressure of bending cylinder will be feedback to the controlsystem in the shape control system. Through decoupling control algorithm and controllingrolling process, it will get the experimental data of the thickness, stress and displacementin the decoupling control system, and verify the decoupling effect of the decouplingcontrol.
