Non-Circular workpieces is the key components of aerospace, automobile, shipbuliding, power generation equiment and other areas, whose structure is complexand in high demand of processing precision. However, the special grinding machinefor non-circular grinding is lack at home presently, the major of control systems areimported. This paper puts forward developing a non-circular grinding CNC systemwith domestic motion controller, and do a processing experiment in three axis millingmachine. This paper introduces the grinding theory model first, and then introduces thecalculated process of cutter center coordinates as X-Y, X-Y-C, X-C three processingmode with the mathematical foundation of piecewise cubic spline fitting. After that, Iput forward two algorithms to realize constant speed grinding by introducing theimportance and present research situation of constant speed grinding: on one hand, using once piecewise cubic spline fitting in workpiece coordinate system, andcalculate the cutter center coordinates with constant length of arc interpolation; on theother hand, using once piecewise cubic spline fitting in workpiece coordinate systemto calculate the tool heart trajectory coordinates, then use twice piecewise cubic splinefitting between the cutter center coordinates and corresponding arc. Sencondly, calculate the cutter center coordinates with constant length of arc interpolation. Thentell the error sources of non-circular grinding processing, and present theestablishment of error analysis of library and the error compensation research. Finally, the virtual model of tool is builted and the simulation experiment process is finishedin VERICUT NC simulation software, then machining experiments are accomplishedon three axis milling machine and the experimental results prove the correctness ofconstant speed grinding algorithm and error compensation algorithm. In this paper, I provide a theroy and software function reference, with practicalguiding significance for subsequent non-circular grinding system development byother development tools.
