The molecular chain of Acrylic rubber is saturated carbon chain, its side chain contain polar ester, this particular structure gives it heat resistance, aging resistance, oil resistance, ozone resistance, UV resistance and excellent performance. A foamed material with the matrix of ACM could have huge application prospects in the fields of the daily life and industrial production. In this paper, acrylic rubber(ACM) has been used as the substrate, OBSH(4,4-oxydi(benzene sulphono hydrazide) as blowing agent, with other additives, to prepared the acrylic rubber with the method of mould foaming, we aim at leading an in-depth study into the preparation of foamed rubber and the relationship between its structure and properties. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:A curometer was adopted to test the ACM compund’s curing characteristics, and TA(thermogravimetric analysis) was used to explain the foaming agents’s decomposition temperature, SEM(scanning electron microscope) was adopted to observe the foamed material’s cellular structure, using the Shore A durometer to test the hardness of foamed rubber, electronic tension machine was adopted to test the tensile strength and the breaking elongation of foam material. Influence of formula factors such as foaming agent and plasticizers and other formula factors such as temperature, time and pressure on ACM foamed material’s macroscopic mechanical property and microscopic cellular structure were discussed. On this basis, in this paper we also try to prepare the hollow glass beads-ACM composite foam material which has double bubble pore structure by using the hollow glass beads as functional fillers. And the effect of hollow glass bead’s dosage on the curing behavior, foam structure, physical tensile properties are discussed.The results showed that, the optimized formulation of preparing ACM was:taking ACM as the foam matrix, with the dosage of OBSH2.5phr, plasticizers30phr, and then foaming at170℃under the condition of8minutes. The prepared ACM foaming material’s surface are smooth surface,the bubble hole are round or oval and it take obturator structure as major. At this time, the comprehensive physical and mechanical performance is the best. And comprehensive consideration, the prepared hollow glass beads-ACM composite foam materials has the best bubble pore structure and physical and mechanical performance when the dosage of hollow glass beads is3phr.In this paper, the guidance of formula design and processing condition were given, and primary reserches on property improvement of ACM foam materials were explored by us, the results have both theoretical and practical significance.
